Mr. Oury was elected to the Woodmen of the World and/or Assured Life Board of Directors on September 27,2008 and Chair of the Board on September 28, 2008. He has served on the Board since June of 2004 and was elected Vice Chair of the Board in 2007. He also serves on the Executive Committee as its Chair and the Audit Committee.
Mr. Oury obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Colorado State University. He also obtained insurance industry designations by taking a series of Life Office Management Association (LOMA) courses and exams. He received his Fellow in the Life Management Association (FLMI) certification and Master Fellow in the Life Management Association (MFLMI) certification. Mr. Oury also passed the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) examination.
Mr. Oury is currently a small business owner in Grand County, Colorado. He is Secretary/Treasurer for New Frontier Construction & Development, Inc.; Operations Manager for New Frontier Development, LLC; Secretary/Treasurer for Fraser River Log & Timber, Inc.; Operations Manager for Rendezvous Futures, LLC; Managing Member for Harrison Consulting and Investment, LCC; and Secretary/Treasurer for Grand Thaw, Inc.
Mr. Oury began his career in the insurance industry, and over the years worked for three insurance companies, two of them fraternal benefit societies. He was Secretary/Treasurer and Controller at Teton National Insurance Company from 1978 to 1985; Secretary/Treasurer and Controller for Woodmen of the World from 1985 to 1992; and Secretary/Treasurer and CFO for WSA Fraternal Life from 1992 to 2000.
Mr. Oury is also serving as a member of the Board of Directors for New Frontier Construction & Development, Inc. and Fraser River Log & Timber, Inc. He has previously served as a member of the board for WSA Fraternal Life, Assured Woodmen Life, and Tabernash Meadows Water and Sanitation District.
Mr. Oury is a member of Rocky Mountain Camp 999 of Woodmen/Assured Life. He is also a member of WSA Fraternal Life Lodge 6.
