Resources for those individuals giving care to another.

Administration on Aging (AoA)
The AoA website contains helpful information on caregiving, including a government-sponsored program called Eldercare Locator that finds community assistance for seniors nationwide, including Adult Day Care.

Aging Network Services (ANS)
ANS helps families select a geriatric care manager to visit seniors in all areas of the country.  They match up the senior care professional with skills in the area of particular need.

AARP on Caregiving
AARP is a great resource for caregivers and caregiving.

American Cancer Society and Caregiving
Taking care of a person with cancer is an important, and sometimes difficult, job. In this page of ACS's website you'll find information and resources to make it easier.

American Diabetes Association
If you are providing care for someone with diabetes, the American Diabetes Association is a great source of information to help ensure sensitivity and awareness, better medical care, and increased quality of life.

Children of Aging Parents (CAPS)
Children of Aging Parents is a nonprofit, charitable organization whose mission is to assist the nation's nearly 54 million caregivers of the elderly or chronically ill with reliable information, referrals and support, and to heighten public awareness that the health of the family caregivers is essential to ensure quality care of the nation's growing elderly population.

Meals on Wheels Association of America (MOWAA)
MOWAA offers support and professional training to those who provide congregate and home-delivered meal services. Includes an extensive list of programs throughout the United States.

National Adult Day Services Association (NADSA)
The National Adult Day Services Association (NADSA) is the leading voice of the rapidly growing adult day services (ADS) industry and the national focal point for ADS providers.  Find a Member Adult Day Service here.

National Association for Home Care (NAHC)
The NAHC is the nation's largest trade association representing the interests and concerns of home care agencies, hospices, and home care aide organizations.  However, they have great information for consumers including finding a home care or hospice service provider.

National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers (GCM)
A professional organization for practitioners; this website contains resources for all caregivers.

National Council on Aging (NCOA)
Improving the Lives of Older Americans, the NCOA has many resources for caregivers.

National Family Caregivers Association (NFCA)
The National Family Caregivers Association educates, supports, empowers and speaks up for the more than 50 million Americans who care for loved ones with a chronic illness or disability or the frailties of old age.  Here they provide resources for caregivers.

Caring Connections
Caring Connections, a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), is a national consumer and community engagement initiative to improve care at the end of life and provides great information to those caring for someone.

National Institute on Aging (NIA)
This institute leads the federal effort on aging research.  Here are some links for caregivers and caregiving.

National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS)
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) conducts and supports research on brain and nervous system disorders.  Great source of information for caregivers of individuals with these kinds of health issues.
